I am so fortunate to be able to lead this amazing group of fitness inspired people. This opportunity allows me to pursue my passion for helping others on their fitness journey.  I am grateful to be in this amazing situation and could not ask for a better group of people to be surrounded by.

I was born and raised in Billings MT where I grew up competing in gymnastics, softball, dance, and track & field. I moved to Bozeman in 2007 to attend MSU  while participating in the MSU cheer program. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Human Development with an emphasis in Kinesiology in 2011. After completing school I took a personal training job here in Bozeman where I enjoyed helping people change their lives through fitness. Along with training I coached kids ages 3-18 in the evenings in tumbling and all-star cheer. My passion is coaching individuals of all ages!

I was not introduced to CrossFit until 2014 where I fell instantly in love with the sense of community CrossFit builds. I joined the coaching staff in December 2014 and loved helping members work towards their goals and break down barriers creating overall stronger people. We opened Hyalite in 2016 and have been so fortunate to meet some of the most amazing people along the way. Along with CrossFit I enjoy hunting, hot yoga, hiking with the dogs, shooting my bow, golfing and traveling. I love everything Bozeman has to offer and could not see myself anywhere else.

I met my husband, Ryan, during my time at MSU and we were married in September 2013. Ryan, also from Montana, loves the Bozeman area and so we decided to stay after graduation. We welcomed our sons, Gianni, into the world June 2019 and little brother Antonio, May 2022 . We also have two Boxers furbabies you will meet at the gym. My life has changed so much since entering motherhood and I am fortunate enough to have Hyalite where I can full time mom and work the gym.

COACHING CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Health and Human Performance: Kinesiology from MSU (2011)

I was raised in small town, Ennis, MT, alongside a great family. Early in life, this small town lifestyle consisted of training for, attending and/or playing any sport of the given season.

I attended Montana State University, where I studied and earned a Bachelors in the “Science of Health and Human Performance.” I met my soon to be wife, Brittney, during my first semester of school. I guess the rest was history. During my time at MSU I tried out for, and somewhat to my surprise made, the MSU Football team where I spent a couple seasons working hard for the sport and team. After college I shifted focus to career development. I am an entrepreneur at heart and opened multiple construction industry businesses in pursuit of my long-term career path. Thankfully, I found that long-term passion working as a local real estate agent/ owner-coach at HCF. Brittney and I welcomed in our first born son, Gianni in 2019. With him, our lives have forever changed for the better. We also live with our two boxers, Bentley and Simba.

Brittney introduced me to Crossfit. Coming from the world of traditional training methods, I looked at her wondering…Why do you have rips on your hands?... Is this worth really it? I later found out that Crossfit was indeed something new. It pushed my comfort zones but offered an honest type of fitness that had much more to offer than a daily WOD. I was naturally humbled by CF and learned to appreciate my personal health/fitness journey. This meant appreciating the small, daily improvements, and focusing on improving physical weaknesses that I was previously afraid to acknowledge. I have most importantly enjoyed the company that we keep before, during and after class. The relationships formed here are those of a genuine team. The bond of our team, this community, is important for many reasons. It provides support and accountability while making us all better, far beyond the aspects of fitness. For this I am very grateful and I know there are many others who feel the same.

With that, I am more than honored to have the opportunity to coach this community full people who are authentic and bring positive energy daily.

Having grown up in a very sports-oriented and competitive environment; sports, family, and competition have always played a big part in my life. I was born in San Jose California and moved out here to Bozeman in 2004. I graduated from Bozeman High School in 2016, and shortly after I graduated from Montana State University in 2021 with a double major in Business Management, Business Marketing, and a Minor in Entrepreneurship.

I was first introduced to CrossFit in 2017 after I realized I couldn't even do an air squat...no joke. Ever since then, CrossFit has become my full-on addiction (literally I never leave the gym lol).

I have been a full-time coach since 2021 and it is truly my passion. I show up every day because I truly genuinely care about people and want to help inspire a difference in their lives. My goal as a coach is to push you past your limits and help you achieve something previously thought to be unattainable. We can all do hard things...it's my job to help you believe it.

Born and raised in Seattle, WA, I was always an athlete.  In high school I played soccer, basketball, and ran cross country.  For college I attended the University of Washington where I obtained my Bachelors degree in Finance.  After taking time to travel internationally post graduation, I spent a year in Bozeman to experience my girlfriend’s home town. Returning to Seattle, I worked in finance for a year before being presented with a job opportunity in Bozeman that was too appealing to ignore.  Thankfully I had spent time as a member of Hyalite Crossfit before I moved so settling back in could not have been easier.

All together I have been a Crossfit participant since 2008 when my older sister taunted me to come with her to a class. I was terrible, but I kept showing up. I knew I’d never be the biggest when it came to pure strength so focusing on improving my technique meant that I was soon able to lift heavier and go harder than people larger than myself.  Fighting to keep up with the members next to me was (and still is) the best motivator for me.  I also love the ability of Crossfit to improve every other physical activity I undertake.  To not be sore after the first day of ski season or to finish playing soccer and not be fatally winded is a benefit that I’ll never overlook.  Receiving my level one trainer certification has me excited to pass on the tips, tricks, and technique I’ve learned over the last decade and I couldn’t think of a better place to do so than at Hyalite Crossfit.

Health, wellness, and fitness has always been a big part of my life. I was born and raised in Park City, Utah where I spent 15 years of  my life pursuing a career as a competitive Freestyle Mogul Skier. I traveled the world living the dream up until 2013 when I decided it was time to return to school. In 2017 I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Exercise Sports Science - Fitness & Wellness Specialist. I did my CrossFit Level one in 2012, and in 2013 I started coaching at Park City Fit (formerly known as CrossFit Park City). I coached there for 8 years, and it was also the start of coaching becoming my full time career.

Growing up as an athlete I always had the desire to be competitive and to train like a competitor. When I became a coach I wanted to be the one who could lead others to achieving their goals. In 2010 my dad introduced me to Crossfit and I love to think of CrossFit being the perfect catalyst for all the great things that followed in life soon after. Not only did CrossFit help me get in better shape for skiing, become a better athlete, and be more confident in my body; but it helped me shape who I am today and become a better person. It was also the reason I was confident enough to take a leap of faith in my career by moving to Montana to work for a company called Healthy Is Wellness. My job as a wellness coach is to help empower the individual, empower themselves, to form positive habits & goals that will turn them into the best version of themselves.

No matter how corporate I get though, coaching in a CrossFit affiliate will always be my favorite place to be. All the long training hours in the gym and time spent prepping meals in the kitchen has been worth it. As much as I enjoy training in the gym however, I do enjoy using my fitness outside the gym as well. Skiing, mountain biking, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and most dangerous action sports are among my favorite activities. I’m always down to try new things, get a little outside the comfort zone, and I’m even trying to make a comeback in hockey. Otherwise being social and hanging out with others, having beers, and enjoying good food is always on my list. And yes, I do purposely color coordinate my gym outfits.

I was born and raised in southern Maryland and grew up as a very competitive soccer player. I loved the sport and camaraderie with big dreams of playing in college.  After two ACL knee injuries in high school, those plans changed, but never lost the competitive athlete mentality.

After graduating from Penn State with an Engineering degree, my first job out of school took me to New Jersey.  Shortly thereafter, I found CrossFit in 2008 and immersed myself completely in the sport.  CrossFit reignited my competitive spirit with a way to channel my passion for sport.  What I like most about CrossFit are the lifelong friendships I've gained along the way and being surrounded every day by like-minded people. I met my wife Kristen at CrossFit in 2009 which is also when I became a CrossFit Coach.

The past 10 years as a CrossFit Coach has been personally fulfilling as my “fun” side job. What I love most about coaching is passing on what I have learned to help others excel in their own CrossFit journeys. I really enjoy being a small part of our member’s CrossFit experiences, whether it be an “ah ha” moment where a movement suddenly clicks or celebrating a PR.

In January 2020, we finally made our lifelong dream of relocating happen West when moved to Bozeman.  Hyalite has one of the most amazing communities I've come across and so grateful to now be a part of it and resuming my passion for coaching here with all of you.

I attended California State University Northridge earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. While attending college I began coaching youth soccer (2004) at Crescenta Valley Soccer Club. That coaching experience landed me a job, in 2008, at my alma-mater coaching the Varsity Girls High School soccer team. I coached youth and high school soccer until November 2020, when my family and I moved to Bozeman.

I started CrossFit in May of 2017 after one of my best friends sprinted passed me in our Semi-Pro soccer training sprint set. Yes, I played a season of Semi-Pro Soccer, lol. I asked her how the heck she got so fast and she replied... CROSSFIT!! I then said, “what time is class tomorrow?”

I jumped into coaching at our home gym, CrossFit Montrose, in 2018/2019. I have found over the years of coaching soccer and, now CrossFit, how much I love teaching technique. I love the challenge of watching people move and doing my best to help them move as efficiently as possible. I truly believe that without fundamentals nothing will work properly.

I started CrossFit for the physical benefits. I continue to do CrossFit because of the community, support, great friends, and mental fortitude it takes.

On a side note, I totally geek out when discussing Nutrition and optimal performance so If you ever want to chat food, I’m in.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska I grew up hiking, running, skiing, and playing competitive soccer. I have always loved everything sports and health related and wanted to make it a part of my career. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at Washington State University, I attended physical therapy school at University of Montana and obtained my Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

I found CrossFit in 2021 to help make me a stronger and well-rounded mountain athlete for hiking and trail running. I fell in love with the sport, competition, community, and constant room for improvement that CrossFit has to offer. It not only made me faster on the trails, but it also made me a more resilient athlete both mentally and physically. The encouragement and drive you get from the community are unmatched.

I was born and raised in Billings, MT where I grew up playing various team sports including football, baseball, and the occasional year of soccer or basketball here and there. I graduated from the University of Montana with bachelor’s degree in Human Biology in 2011 and continued at the University of Montana to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2015.

During my college years, I dove into endurance sports through trail running, hiking, and backpacking. However, I always maintained a love for lifting heavy weight. This is one of the reasons that I was so drawn to CrossFit as I saw it as the ultimate blend of every aspect of fitness. Not only that, but it helped to rekindle my passion for teamwork, community, and competition.

As a physical therapist and coach, I strongly believe that fitness is one of the primary drivers to an individual leading a healthy, fulfilling life. I take pride in pushing my athletes to reach their fitness goals both in the clinic and the gym. I also love the challenge of helping an individual overcome a physical barrier that may be holding them back. I look forward to the opportunity bring my PT knowledge into the gym and help to keep the athletes at Hyalite healthy and pushing to achieve their fitness aspirations.

My wife, Anna, and I run our own performance physical therapy clinic, Movement Physio. Our goal is to provide the best level of care for Crossfit and fitness athletes to not only help them reduce pain but return to activity better than when they came to see us. If you’re dealing with any aches and pains, I’m always happy to chat after class!

Haley Trap- Level 1 Trainer

I was born and raised in California; and I was just as hyperactive as a kid as I am now. After trying to teach myself how to do flips on the playground, my mom enrolled me in gymnastics.

I continued to compete in gymnastics for 10 years, and it taught me the importance of mental toughness, discipline, technique and patience. I also competed in track & field / pole vaulting in my late high school and early college years.

After graduating from UC Berkeley in 2014, I moved to San Francisco to begin a career in Software Sales. Since that time, I've lived in Chicago, Denver, Santa Cruz and now -- my favorite place of all -- Bozeman.

CrossFit was something I stumbled on along the way; and I am eternally grateful to have walked into that gym back in 2018. Before then, I thought my athletic career had ended and the gym was just a place I went to stay in shape. What I found: not only can I continue to be in the best shape of my life, but there is a group of like minded people who enjoy constantly learning, talking a little smack, and never accepting the quit.

I’m so humbled and excited to be on the coaching staff to share what I love with all of you! And if you ever want to talk music or beer…. I’m your girl for that, too!
